Can you tell me more about Farmer's Toms?
The farm was originally owned by the Meyer Family. In the early 1900's the farm was an orchard. My family has owned the farm since 1952, when my father, Lloyd Reynolds, purchased it. We began raising pigs, chickens and various crops. In 1985, after attending Penn State College, I began farming full time. We have been raising turkeys, pigs, cows, and a variety of vegetable crops ever since.
Are your turkey's all natural?
Our turkeys are ALL natural and raised locally at the farm. The birds are given twice the recommended space to grow, with fresh water, feed and air daily and are hormone free. The only way to get a fresher turkey is to raise one yourself.
Do we use growth hormones?
We do not use any growth hormones. We are also MDA certified and inspected.
What kind of meats do you sell?
We sell various kinds of meat products. Burgers, Steaks, Chicken, Roasts, Pork, Rabbit and Turkey products are among the list of fresh meats we sell. Check out the Estore for more information on product and pricing details.
Can I visit your farm?
Everyone is welcome to visit the farm. We are open Friday, Saturday & Sunday's from 10-6. All you need to do stop by. In the fall season, we hold Educational Farm Tours for schools and groups. This field trip is like no other. The children get to see how a REAL WORKING farm operates. Come see, hear, and smell a real working farm. See turkeys, pigs and rabbits. Learn about crops growing in the fields. Trips include; the tour, fun learning activities and a hayride to the pumpkin patch where each child get to take a pumpkin. If you would like to bring a group for a tour, please call and make an appointment and we would be happy to set up a visit. The cost is $8.50/person.
How do long do I cook a whole turkey?
These are estimate times of cooking. FRESH turkeys that we sell may cook quicker then a frozen turkey purchased from a grocery store. The recommended cooking temperature is 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes per hour (unstuffed).
How many people will my turkey feed?
On average you should calculate 1-2 pounds per person when deciding on the size of turkey you are ordering. Make sure to take into account whether or not you want leftovers, how many people want white meat, how many adults or teenage boys you are feeding...
What is the difference between a fresh turkey and smoked turkey?
A smoked turkey is FULLY cooked on the smoker for approximately 6+hours and has a distinct smoked flavor. It is ready to eat; cold or warmed the day you choose to serve it. The fresh turkeys and just that; fresh, cleaned and ready to cook.
How do you store the turkey until ready to cook?
The best temperature for your turkey is between 28 and 34 degrees F.
Properly stored farm-fresh turkeys keep well for 10 days or more. To store your turkey, first remove the giblets from the front cavity and the neck from the large cavity. Wrap giblet and neck in foil or plastic and put them into the refrigerator in a bowl. Turn the fridge to its coldest setting, and put the turkey into the coldest part of the fridge. Leave the turkey in its plastic bag or transfer it to another bag.
What is the cost to have home delivery?
Delivery fees are determined by your area. We only deliver 30 miles from the farm, delivery fees range from minimum of $10.00 and a maximum of $25.00. There is always the option to pick up at the farm.
How often does the delivery come?
We only deliver on Wednesdays of each week. All orders placed on the website must be ordered by Sunday to receive delivery on that coming Wednesday. For pick up items, your purchase must be ordered by Wednesday to have available for that Saturday pick up.
What time of day should I expect my delivery?
All deliveries are made on Wednesday of each week. You will receive a phone call at the number provided on your online account the day of deliver. The driver will then provide a time frame of delivery so you can prepare arrangements to store any products order that may require a cool environment.
What if I am not home when the delivery comes?
You do not necessary need to be home. In most cases we will deliver to coolers on your front porch, or some type of cooling environment outside.
** You will be notified of delivery prior to leaving the farm. We are not responsible for any products left at your property, if there is no cooler or prior arrangements made. We deliver everything fresh to ensure the best quality so having a cooler with ice is necessary to receive a shipment if not home.**
How far in advance do I need place my order?
Turkey orders are accepted through Thanksgiving or Christmas, as long as they are available. It is recommended that you place your order EARLY, as we do tend to run out of certain sizes of the turkeys.

Farm pick up orders online - will be arranged. It is important that you pick up your order at the time specified.
Delivery will remain on Wednesdays for online orders.
Can I change the items I ordered after I placed the order?

What are the methods of payment?
We accept MasterCard and Visa only.
Do I need to set up an account?
Yes, if you would like make purchases off our website, you will need to create an account online. Once the account is created, you will receive our confirmation e-mail to include your login information.
How do I track my shipment of an order?
All orders are delivered on Wednesday of each week as long as you ordered by Sunday. Anything ordered after Sunday will be placed on the following week's Wednesday's delivery day.
Do I need to enter my address and credit card information every time I order?
Your address is saved in to your account profile, but we do not save any credit card information. This will need to be reentered with each new purchase.
Can I change my delivery address within my account profile?
Yes, just log in with your account information. You can update your address in your profile and click update. The new address will be submitted.
Why should I place my turkey order online?
When ordering your holiday turkey, you are charged by the weight range. We pull turkeys on the higher end of the weight range for online orders placed. By ordering online this guarantees you will get a turkey in your weight range or higher. If there is an exact Turkey size (weight) you need, please call the office and order your turkey. If you get the answering machine, please leave your name, a working phone number , the size you need and whether a smoked or fresh turkey is desired.
